News from Paris, France!

As of October 1st the Mayor's office put out word to the media that a 68 euro fine ($75) will be given to cigarette butt litter offenders. A total of 30,000 permanent ashtrays have been installed, and 15,000 portable ashtrays have been distributed to citizens to deter butts from being dropped on the ground. It is estimated that Paris discards 350 tonnes, which is approximately 910 million cigarette butts, per year!
